February Favorites 2017

February, the shortest month but also one of my favorite months. Not only is it the month of love but it is also Black History Month. I love honoring those before myself and those currently who continue to promote change and fight for my rights. This makes Black History Month my first favorite of the month.

My next favorites are Sojos vision which has amazing sunglass styles and Neutrogena which has some of my favorite color sticks.

Sojos Vision sunglasses have become my latest obsession and I can thank my great friend Irvenie for getting them for me for Christmas. Not only are they stylish but they also act as shields if you are trying to check someone out.(kinda creepy) There are many different colors and styles to choose from. You can check out their link here.

My next favorite is the color sticks by Neutrogena. Not only do they last all night, but they also keep your lips moisturized. There are many shades and they are available at your local drugstore (CVS, Walgreens, etc.) The colors I have are (from top to bottom) Deep Plum, Berry Brown, Fresh Orchid, and Classic Red. The image below shows how they look with my skin tone.

That is all I have been loving this past month. If you have any favorites that you would recommend me try, let me know in the comments. I hope you all had a great February and that your March is even better.

P.S. I am raising money to be able to study abroad in Rome this coming August 2017. I have raised $150 so far, but am still very far away from my goal. If you would not mind sharing my link or even donating $5 I can reach my goal in no time.

Thanks so much!

Skincare Routine

When it comes to skincare we all have different products that work best for your skin type. The products below are what work best for my skin type. I have very oily, sensitive skin. I use a three-step process by Neutrogena.

The first thing I do is wash my face with the Oil-Free Acne Stress Control. Being in college there is a lot of stress that comes with finishing projects, studying for tests and making time for leisure activity. This product contains green tea and cucumber which helps with reducing the redness and irritation that comes with acne.

The next product I use is the Rapid Clear Treatment Pads. This product helps to reduce breakouts and stop emerging breakouts. This product is amazing. Use the pad right before going to sleep and you will wake up with reduced pimple size as well as the disappearance of pimples. I love the pads but because the contain salicylic acid you need to put a moisturizer on after. Which leads me to my third step.

The last step is to put on a layer of moisturizer. I use one full pump to cover my whole face. Since I have sensitive skin I have to use a moisturizer that is super light weight.

I use these three products in the morning and at night. Like I mentioned in my first paragraph, everyone has a different skin type. Below is a link to Neutrogena to help you figure out what skincare products work best for you.

Thanks for reading and have a great week! If you have any suggestions on blog posts you would want to see, comment below.

Being Single on Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day, it is an interesting concept. Buying candy for your significant other, going on dates and doing things special are all aspects of what signifies a great Valentine's Day. So what do you do when you are single?

Here are some things I like to do on Valentine's Day:

Since Valentine's Day is all about love. Send a gift to a family member or friend to let them know how much you appreciate them.

Go out with friends. Cook a meal, go see a movie, or throw a singles party.

Or stay in. Eat ice cream, watch a chick flick or order in.

Or just do nothing. Sleep all day.

Just make Valentine's Day the one day where it is all about you. You do not need another person to make you happy. Always remember that there is someone out there who loves and cares about you.

What are some things you like to do on Valentine's Day?

Travel Diary: Miami

My friend came down from Michigan and we all explored the city of Miami. Since I currently go to the University of Miami I have plenty of opportunities to go explore Miami but it is so much more fun when you explore with your friends. We visited Bayfront Park, Wynwood, went to a University of Miami basketball game and Coconut Grove. Enjoy these awesome pictures from this trip. Photo cred goes to Irvenie, Edlyn, and Emily.

This was one of the best trips I have had around Miami in a long time. I cannot wait to go on more adventures with these lovely people.
